Do Just One Thing

Danny Seo on

You might think that leaving your dog's waste to naturally decompose is better than bagging it up, but you're wrong. Just like human waste, pet waste is a pollutant that can cause serious environmental damage. The Environmental Protection Agency says that "just 2 to 3 days of droppings from 100 dogs can contribute enough bacteria, nitrogen and phosphorous to temporarily close a bay to swimming." It's believed that around 40% of dog owners don't always clean up after their pets, which adds up to a lot of dog waste. Do the right thing: Bag it up, throw it away and keep your pet's waste out of our waterways.
